WHAT DO City RANGERS DO?

✧ City of Gods Rangers help everyone celebrate safely. You are responsible for maintaining a positive & welcoming presence at the festival.

✧ You are a beacon of help. You can help get people water, alert a security guard or EMT if someone needs help, or walk someone to a quieter area to wind down.

✧ You will be required to wear a light-up armband (provided by the Festival) to make yourself visible during your shift.

✧ You must complete a training where we will teach our approach to bystander intervention, de-escalation, and non-violent communication.

✧ Your role is an additional line of safety beyond the hired event staff like security, EMTs, and managers.

✧  Rangers are volunteers. In exchange for a shift, you will get a Free ticket and a drink ticket (valued at $175).

WILL YOU MAKE A GOOD City RANGER?

✧ The Ranger role is best suited for someone who is calm, collected, self-aware, and outgoing

✧ You are expected to remain sober during your shift to be alert & helpful.

✧ Before you can support other people, you need to be comfortable supporting yourself and remain calm & composed in all scenarios you face.

✧ You will need a reference to apply who can vouch for your safer space work in other settings.

✧ If you have a history of trauma or sexual assault, you may find Ranger work triggering. Carefully consider whether you are fit to serve as a Ranger before applying.
